Student Exhibit – SET UP, Day 2

Student Exhibit: Day 2, Student Designers
Student Exhibit: Day 2, Student Designers

The student designers have been so wonderful to work with! We are looking forward to seeing their complete exhibit as well as spending some time getting to know them!

Please take a look at their Facebook page: Transcend, pq2015 usitt-usa student exhibit. They have done such a great job keeping everyone updated about their work. There is also a lot of information about the designs that have been selected from students submissions across America. Enjoy and befriend all of them, they are awesome.

Here is an update about how their second install day went.

Carrie and Paul did some wiring for the exhibit. Extension cord for the transformer and for the projectors had to be completed, as wells lamps for the courtyard inside the lockers.

The technical elements of the exhibit are coming along. For sound, the speakers are up and running, and controlled via a wireless connection to a MacBook. They will continue to work on the projectors and will hopefully have a darker room to test the lighting and projections. The Kafka house lets in wonderful light into the room, however the design for the Student Exhibit must remain as dark as possible. Hopefully they can find a way to solve some of the light leak through the windows and neighboring exhibits.

Tomorrow everything should be in place. The lockers are just about complete with their props and artifacts installed. The courtyard is finished and the header above the lockers is where it needs to be, and tomorrow the puddle will go in place. Overall everyone is working great together and there is constant communication between the designers and Carrie and Sandy. They are so close from being finished with a successful set up! Wish them luck with there last day and a half!

Also, fun fact, they have gone through 13 rolls of double sided tape. So many things inside these lockers you guys!!
