The final days of set up for the National Exhibit mainly consisted of lighting, placing the artifacts, and placing the lettering decals to lable the designers work.
Placing all of the objects went smoothly. When we set up the exhibit in Indiana as a trial, a lot of the decisions about where objects and artifacts would go were made. So, placing the objects in the exhibit during the last few days here in St. Ann’s went very well, and very quickly. Klara, Markéta and Kevin already knew where they wanted each object, and Kristen, assistant to the designer, kept a highly detailed notebook containing placement notes and other various information about every photo, prop and model from our trial set up.
The labels on the exhibit floor and on the top of the trucks hood was the final addition to the exhibit. We placed the lettering at the end of the fourth day. The decals went on smoothly, as long as we were patient, and did not rush the process.
After the fourth day, we were finally finished with the exhibit. We were so happy to see the exhibit ready for an audience! We met at the end of the day to celebrate, and all agreed the process could not have gone better. We are incredibly proud of the work we were able to complete for Klara’s design, and for the wonderful team of curators and designers.
