Intended to be Victorian period piece with modern lines and concert flair, with a thirty-eight piece orchestra on stage, the design for this production created an epic environment for this musical masterpiece. The “projection surface” in the design was reminiscent of meat locker strips of plastic, creating a world in which actors could come and go, imagery could elevate moments, and blood could overtake the space.
